WoW 12.1.5 Release Date and Overview: The Patch Before Forever
The WoW 12.1.5 release date is not official yet. Patch 12.1.5, The Promise of Tomorrow, has been on the PTR since September 3, 2026, and every clue points to Tuesday, October 6 in the Americas and Wednesday, October 7 in Europe.
That leaves less than a month before World of Warcraft Forever launches on November 4. Same subscription, same evenings, two games fighting over them. The patch brings a one-boss raid, the first Labyrinth, hourly Aqir Invasions, Ascendant Venomstones and a mount priced like a small country.
When Patch 12.1.5 Goes Live
Blizzard confirmed the content and opened the PTR. It did not name the WoW 12.1.5 release date. Patch 12.1 went live on August 11, and the eight-week content cadence lands exactly on October 6.
The second hint sits in the game itself. Orin Straylight’s Season 2 research timer counts down to the week of October 6. Blizzard rarely builds a public countdown to nothing.

The WoW Forever release date is fixed, unlike the patch. The WoW Forever launch time is 3:00 p.m. PST, which is midnight on November 5 in Central Europe. Until Blizzard posts the 12.1.5 date, treat October 6 as an estimate you can lose a weekend to.

It is a mid-season update, not a new season. Mythic+ Season 2 continues, ratings stay, and nobody resets your Keystone Master.
The Unbinding of Kith’ix Raid
Kith’ix, a C’Thraxxi general, was chained beneath the Vaults of Ula’tek. You killed Ula’tek, the chains weakened, and now you clean up your own mess alongside Lady Liadrin.
PTR data lists Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic and Mythic. Flexible difficulties scale up to 30 players, and Mythic is fixed at 25. Heroic and Mythic kills feed your Venomstone pile, so even a single boss deserves a weekly lockout.
Labyrinths and the Labyrinth of Kindo’jan
Labyrinths are Delves stretched into mega-dungeons. You can clear one in a single session or drag it out across several, with Valeera Sanguinar as the companion.
The first one, the Labyrinth of Kindo’jan, is an Amani funeral complex sealed for centuries. Looters, Vilebranch trolls and offended spirits compete with you for the loot. The Labyrinth has its own renown track, and PTR achievements tie a mount and titles to solo Tier 11 clears during Season 2.
Aqir Invasions
- An invasion starts every hour and lasts ten minutes.
- It alternates between Eversong Woods and Zul’Aman.
- A chain of public events ends in a boss fight.
- There are six scenario types, three with combat and three without.
- Combat scenarios roll from eight possible affixes.
- Rewards scale with how many objectives the zone completes, so bring people.
Ascendant Venomstones
Venomstones replace Season 1’s Ascendant Voidcores. The new part is necklaces, which join weapons and trinkets on the upgrade list.
- Talk to Orin Straylight next to the Catalyst in Silvermoon City.
- Complete the quest Ancient Depths, Ancient Venom.
- Wait until Orin finishes his research, because stones do not drop before that.
- Farm Heroic or Mythic raid bosses, Mythic+ 10 and higher, Tier 11 Bountiful Delves and Nightmare Prey Champion chests.
- Spend 10 stones on a fully upgraded Season 2 Hero, Myth or top-quality crafted weapon, trinket or necklace.
Ten stones per item means a weapon, a trinket and a necklace cost thirty. Pick slots you will not replace next week.
Sporebearer Fungal Strider Cost
The Sporebearer Fungal Strider is sold by Showena in Harandar. It has two passenger seats, and you choose who sits there by talking to Hoshena in The Den.

The mount leaves the vendor when Midnight ends. The NPC unlocks stay available forever, which is small comfort if you missed the mount.
Quality of Life Changes
- Legion and Battle for Azeroth reputations become warband-wide.
- Player coordinates appear under the minimap and can be switched off.
- Raid frames can show an animated border on dispellable units.
- Pinging a macro now shows its #showtooltip information.
- Housing Edit Mode lets you switch floors with Page Up and Page Down or custom keybinds.
- Prey players below rank 3 get 4,000 Journey progress per hunt.
- Prey players between ranks 3 and 8 get 2,000 progress from their first four hunts each week.
Patch 12.1.5 and WoW Forever
WoW Forever vs retail is not a client question. Patch 12.1.5 belongs to Midnight, while the Forever beta runs its own 1.60.1 build. Nothing from the Kith’ix raid, Labyrinths or Venomstones crosses over.
The subscription covers both games. WoW Forever free with subscription means the base game costs nothing extra, but the Skyborne race and their starting zone need at least the Skyborne Heroic Pack.
The real conflict is time. The WoW 12.1.5 release date lands in the middle of the Forever beta, and the WoW Forever beta access window closes on October 21. Beta access comes with the Skyborne Epic Pack, the Warcraft Forever Collection or a lucky opt-in invite. The Heroic Pack does not include it.
The WoW Forever Skyborne race starts on Zephras Isle, a level 1 to 12 island in Skywall. Forever itself caps at level 60 and adds zones like Mount Hyjal and the Riverglades, more than 1,000 quests, nine dungeons and two raids.

The WoW Forever pre-purchase lineup has three digital tiers. The Heroic Pack costs $29.99, and the Epic Pack and Collection are reported at $59.99 and $79.99.

What to Finish Before November 4
- Start Ancient Depths, Ancient Venom on patch day so Orin’s research is done early.
- Clear Kith’ix on Heroic in the first weeks while your guild still logs in.
- Bank Labyrinth progress before Forever eats your evenings.
- Buy the Fungal Strider before Midnight ends, or accept that you never will.
- Reserve your Forever names on October 27, because someone wants yours.
