WoW 12.1.5 Solo Tier List: Delves, Labyrinths and Prey
The WoW 12.1.5 solo tier list in one breath: Vengeance Demon Hunter, Guardian Druid, Protection Paladin, Blood Death Knight, Demonology Warlock and Beast Mastery Hunter own Tier 11 Delves, Nightmare Prey and the Labyrinth of Kindo’jan. The ranking was taken on October 4, 2026, on live 12.1 with the October 6 tuning applied as announced, and it covers Tier 8 to Tier 11 content at item level 290 to 309.
Patch 12.1.5, The Promise of Tomorrow, goes live October 13 in NA and October 14 in EU, inside Midnight Season 2. It is a mid-season patch, so solo balance carries over from 12.1 unless the notes say otherwise, and the notes say very little. Devourer gets a cleanup, Frost Mage loses a bug that was quietly paying its rent, Protection Warrior gets a bigger Execute. If your spec sits in D today, it will still sit in D on October 14.
Snapshot date and content level
A tier list without a date is a horoscope. This one is stamped, scoped and will rot on schedule with the next hotfix thread.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Ranking taken | October 4, 2026 |
| Live data | Patch 12.1 Curse of Ula’tek, Season 2 week 7, October 6 tuning included |
| PTR data | Official 12.1.5 notes published October 1, 2026 |
| 12.1.5 release | October 13 NA, October 14 EU |
| Content level | Tier 8 to Tier 11 Delves, Labyrinth Tier 8 to 11, Nightmare Prey, solo Nemesis kills |
| Gear assumption | Item level 290 to 309 with the Tier 36 4-piece active |
Two things are deliberately excluded. The Unbinding of Kith’ix is a raid where you fight next to Lady Liadrin and a raid group of strangers, and Aqir Invasions are ten-minute public events in Eversong or Zul’Aman where nobody is solo. The Midnight Season 2 Delve tier list below ranks only content you face with Valeera Sanguinar and nobody else to blame.
The full ranking: all 40 specs
Every specialization, one tier, one verdict. The tier reflects the whole solo package: Tier 8 farming speed, Tier 11 and Nemesis survival, and whether a spec can walk nine Labyrinth chambers without stopping to eat.
| Spec | Tier | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Vengeance Demon Hunter | S | Self-healing, Sigil control and the best Nemesis record of the season. |
| Guardian Druid | S | The easiest Tier 11 spec in the game, with stealth skips for packs you refuse to kill. |
| Protection Paladin | S | An answer for every mechanic, plus 6% more damage since September 22. |
| Blood Death Knight | S | Lost some San’layn AoE, gained a harder Death Strike, still laughs at Torment. |
| Demonology Warlock | S | The Felguard tanks, the imps kill, you press buttons from a safe distance. |
| Beast Mastery Hunter | S | Bottom of raid meters, top of solo comfort, buffed twice since launch. |
| Retribution Paladin | A | The fastest weekly farmer once Divine Arbiter is online. |
| Fury Warrior | A | Highest chain-pull pace in Tier 8 and enough self-healing to skip the drink. |
| Protection Warrior | A | S-grade survival, slow kills, and 12.1.5 speeds up the second part. |
| Brewmaster Monk | A | Near-unkillable after the October 6 Stagger buffs, if your fingers keep up. |
| Frost Death Knight | A | The largest cumulative buff package of the season. |
| Unholy Death Knight | A | Self-sufficient and strong, minus the October 6 Blightfall nerf. |
| Devourer Demon Hunter | A | October 6 single-target buffs and a 12.1.5 cleanup make it the riser. |
| Havoc Demon Hunter | A | Best mobility in the list, 7% richer since August, thin when cornered. |
| Restoration Druid | A | Unkillable and slow, carried by Valeera’s healer scaling. |
| Preservation Evoker | A | A healer that deals real damage while Valeera does the rest. |
| Discipline Priest | A | Atonement heals 40% more outside raids, which is exactly where you are. |
| Enhancement Shaman | A | Underperforms in keys, self-heals fine alone, buffed again on October 6. |
| Affliction Warlock | A | DoT and drain sustain, weak only to trash that dies before Agony ticks. |
| Feral Druid | B | Buffed, then ignored on October 6; the 4-piece is the reason to stay. |
| Survival Hunter | B | Eleven percent richer plus two Wildfire Bomb buffs. |
| Marksmanship Hunter | B | Ranged comfort, thin recovery, new Blood Fletching talent in 12.1.5. |
| Devastation Evoker | B | Good damage, glass defensives, Scalecommander or nothing. |
| Frost Mage | B | Control keeps it alive; 12.1.5 removes a Splitting Ice bug that paid it. |
| Fire Mage | B | Kills fast, dies faster, and its September buffs were aimed at keys. |
| Mistweaver Monk | B | Turns into a real progression healer at 4-piece. |
| Windwalker Monk | B | Mobile and buffed, but one missed defensive at Tier 10 costs a life. |
| Holy Paladin | B | Plate healer with Lay on Hands and no damage worth mentioning. |
| Restoration Shaman | B | Slow alone, yet the Tank Valeera trick makes Tier 11 absurdly reachable. |
| Shadow Priest | B | Single target buffed 15% in September, still a cloth caster with a ramp. |
| Assassination Rogue | B | Bleeds and Crimson Vial keep it upright, interrupts do the rest. |
| Outlaw Rogue | B | 12.1.5 makes Blade Flurry cheaper on small packs, which is every Delve pack. |
| Elemental Shaman | B | Strong cleave, clunky movement, fragile when a snake picks your face. |
| Destruction Warlock | B | Healthstone sustain, but long hard casts lose to fast interrupts. |
| Arms Warrior | B | Decent damage, worse self-healing than Fury, so play Fury. |
| Balance Druid | C | Fine for Tier 8 farming, poor in any fight that will not let you kite. |
| Arcane Mage | C | Best mage in keys, worst mage alone, because damage is not a defensive. |
| Subtlety Rogue | C | Two Trickster buffs and a Shadow damage fix under review, still no margin. |
| Augmentation Evoker | D | Its kit and 4-piece buff other players, and solo there are none. |
| Holy Priest | D | Unkillable and harmless, with Tier 11 clears measured in geological time. |
S tier: the specs that ignore the rules
Four tanks and two pet classes. In every case something other than your own health bar takes the beating: plate and active mitigation, or a demon and a wolf with no instinct for self-preservation.
Azta’rec settled the argument in Season 2. He outruns players, so kiting is off the table, and his auto-attacks hit anything that is not a tank at full value. Kindo’jan on Tier 11 sits at the end of a nine-chamber run, which turns downtime and deaths into the real enemy. S tier is the set of specs that suffers least from both.
- Vengeance Demon Hunter pairs self-healing and Sigil control with the best mobility of any tank, and its Vengeance 4-piece doubles Immolation Aura and Sigil of Spite damage on Sigil targets.
- Guardian Druid is the simplest route to Tier 11 because form swapping puts stealth skips, emergency healing and roots on one character.
- Protection Paladin answers every Delve mechanic with Lay on Hands, Divine Steed and blessings, and the September 22 pass added 6% to all of its damage.
- Blood Death Knight lost 6% overall damage on September 22 but gained a stronger Death Strike, so the spec that heals by hitting now hits harder too.
- Demonology Warlock is the only DPS spec in S because the Felguard holds threat, a little Health Funnel keeps it alive and the August 25 package added roughly 12.5% AoE.
- Beast Mastery Hunter had Beast Cleave raised from 55% to 70% and then 7% more damage on September 1, so the laziest spec in the game is now also one of the fastest.
A tier: one weakness each
A tier is where most of the playerbase should live. Every spec here clears Tier 11 with clean play, and every spec has exactly one flaw that S does not share: kill speed for tanks and healers, recovery after a mistake for DPS.
For Tier 8 farming the top of A beats half of S. Retribution, Fury and Devourer pull and kill faster than any tank, and they drop out of S only because Nemesis fights and Tier 11 bosses punish their lighter mitigation.
- Retribution Paladin became the fastest weekly farmer after the August 25 correction that raised Divine Arbiter main target damage by 150% on the Retribution 4-piece.
- Fury Warrior has the highest chain-pull pace in Tier 8 and enough self-healing to never stop between packs.
- Protection Warrior already survives like S tier, and 12.1.5 adds 30% Execute damage while Colossus Practiced Strikes cuts the Rage cost of Execute and Revenge by 10.
- Brewmaster Monk received Quick Sip and Pretense of Instability buffs on October 6, which makes its durability S grade at the cost of the most demanding rotation of any tank.
- Frost Death Knight collected the largest cumulative buff package of the season, ending with Frostreaper doubled and Obliterate up another 10% on September 22.
- Unholy Death Knight stays self-sufficient and strong, but the October 6 change returns Blightfall to 100% of remaining plague damage after a bug fix overshot.
- Devourer Demon Hunter gets 8% more Consume, Reap, Eradicate and Collapsing Star primary damage on October 6, then a 12.1.5 pass that stops cancelled Collapsing Star casts from going on cooldown.
- Havoc Demon Hunter gained 3% on August 25 and 4% on September 1, and its mobility is unmatched, but it has the thinnest mitigation of any DH spec.
- Restoration Druid is almost impossible to kill, and the 12.1.5 Nature’s Bounty redesign makes Regrowth smarter about who it heals, which solo means you and Valeera.
- Preservation Evoker contributes real damage while Valeera’s healer scaling covers the gap, and the 12.1.5 cut to Merithra’s Blessing duration barely matters alone.
- Discipline Priest earns its spot from the September 22 change that raised Atonement healing by 40% outside raid and battleground instances, plus a 20% cheaper Penance.
- Enhancement Shaman underperforms in Mythic+, yet its self-healing and burst are enough alone, and October 6 adds 4% damage and 35% more Lava Lash.
- Affliction Warlock wins on sustained Agony and Unstable Affliction pressure with drain healing, losing time only on trash that dies before the DoTs pay out.
B tier: capable, punished harder
B tier clears Tier 8 at a respectable pace and survives Tier 11 with correct talents. The difference from A is margin. One missed interrupt or one wasted defensive at Tier 10 and above costs a life, and a Labyrinth gives you nine chambers to make that mistake in.
Damage is rarely the problem here. Most of these specs out-damage A tier tanks; they simply have less to fall back on when the pack does not die on time.
- Feral Druid received buffs on September 1 and through Wildstalker on September 22, was skipped on October 6, and depends on the Feral 4-piece that adds 10 seconds to Berserk.
- Survival Hunter is 11% richer from the August and September passes, and Wildfire Bomb gained AoE damage on September 22 plus 20% periodic damage in the October 1 hotfix.
- Marksmanship Hunter gets ranged safety but weak recovery, and 12.1.5 replaces Unload with Blood Fletching, which rewards Aimed Shot crits with a short bleed window.
- Devastation Evoker has strong AoE after the September 22 buffs to Pyre, Azure Strike and Shattering Star, but its defensives fold under Nemesis pressure.
- Frost Mage survives on control and Ice Block, while 12.1.5 fixes a Splitting Ice bug that let both Frostbolt hits deal full damage, which is a stealth nerf to its cleave.
- Fire Mage kills quickly and dies quickly, and the September 22 buff to Meteor damage over time was aimed at keys rather than at you.
- Mistweaver Monk gained 5% healing on September 1, more Vivify healing on September 22 and Enveloping Mist buffs on October 6, and it jumps a full tier at 4-piece.
- Windwalker Monk got 25% more auto-attack damage on September 22, but a single wasted defensive at Tier 10 still costs a life.
- Holy Paladin brings plate, Lay on Hands and a free life in a bubble, and almost no personal damage.
- Restoration Shaman is slow alone, yet healing a Tank Valeera lets undergeared characters clear Tier 11, which is the best kept cheat of the season.
- Shadow Priest gained 15% on Mind Blast, Mind Flay and related spells on September 22, yet remains a cloth caster that needs setup time it does not always get.
- Assassination Rogue survives on bleeds, Crimson Vial and Feint, and lets stuns and interrupts do the heavy lifting.
- Outlaw Rogue benefits from the 12.1.5 Deft Maneuvers change that makes Blade Flurry cost 5 Energy per extra target instead of a flat 30, ideal for two and three target pulls.
- Elemental Shaman cleaves well but moves badly, and Delve casters that cannot move while casting end up standing in poison.
- Destruction Warlock has Healthstone and drain sustain, but its long hard casts lose to every fast interrupt check.
- Arms Warrior deals decent damage with worse self-healing than Fury, which makes Fury the obvious switch.
C tier: farm here, progress elsewhere
C tier specs farm Tier 8 without embarrassment and then fall apart the moment a fight refuses to be kited. They are not unplayable. They are just honest about what they cannot do.
- Balance Druid farms Tier 8 comfortably and gains 10% damage inside Eclipse from the Balance 4-piece, but it has no margin when the boss comes to you.
- Arcane Mage is the strongest mage in Mythic+ by a wide margin and the weakest one alone, because enormous damage does not replace a missing defensive.
- Subtlety Rogue received Unseen Blade and Coup de Grace buffs on September 22, a further Trickster pass on October 6 and a 12.1.5 Shadow damage fix whose impact Blizzard itself calls under review.
D tier: built for other people
D tier is not a judgment on the players. It is a judgment on kits designed to make someone else look good, deployed in content where nobody else exists.
- Augmentation Evoker got large personal damage buffs to Fire Breath, Upheaval and Eruption on September 22, but the Augmentation 4-piece still echoes damage through Fate Mirror to allies you do not have.
- Holy Priest cannot die and cannot kill, so Tier 11 clears take long enough to watch the season end.
Tier 36 set: which specs jump at 4-piece
Tier 36 comes from the Venomous Abyss, the Great Vault, PvP gear and the Catalyst. Solo players build it through Vault rolls and Catalyst charges, which is slower but entirely possible. The Tier 36 set bonus at 4-piece is the largest power gain any spec banks this season, and for four specs it changes the tier.
| Spec | Without 4-piece | With 4-piece | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Retribution Paladin | B | A, S for farming | The Retribution 4-piece spawns Divine Arbiter, buffed by 150% on its main target on August 25. |
| Mistweaver Monk | C | B, A for Tier 11 | The Mistweaver 4-piece resets Rising Sun Kick, with the proc raised from 20% to 25% on September 1. |
| Feral Druid | C | B | The Feral 4-piece adds 10 seconds to Berserk, the window where Feral actually exists. |
| Vengeance Demon Hunter | A | S | The Vengeance 4-piece doubles Immolation Aura and Sigil of Spite damage on Sigil targets. |
Some specs barely notice their set. The Devourer 4-piece was nerfed before Season 2 and compensated with 14% baseline damage, so Devourer plays the same at two pieces. The Augmentation 4-piece helps allies you do not have. The Beast Mastery 4-piece and Demonology 4-piece add AoE to specs that were already S, and the Enhancement 4-piece creates a Crash Lightning loop that players openly complain warps the rotation.
If you sit at three pieces, spend the Catalyst charge on the slot that completes the set, not the slot with prettier secondary stats. For Restoration Druid the Restoration Druid 4-piece got a longer Genesis on August 25, which is nice and changes nothing about its tier.
Hero Talent trees ranked separately
The best hero talents for delves follow what Blizzard admitted in its own tuning notes. Where a spec’s two trees land in different tiers, both are listed. Specs not in the table run either tree inside the same tier, so pick the one you can play without staring at the bars.
| Spec | Tree | Solo tier | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Havoc Demon Hunter | Fel-Scarred | A | Default pick for every solo activity. |
| Havoc Demon Hunter | Aldrachi Reaver | B | Blizzard said it fell well behind; September 22 buffs narrowed the gap. |
| Vengeance Demon Hunter | Annihilator | S | The stronger tree by Blizzard’s own admission. |
| Vengeance Demon Hunter | Aldrachi Reaver | A | Reaver’s Glaive buffed on September 22, still the slower tree. |
| Devourer Demon Hunter | Void-Scarred | A | Pulled ahead in 12.1, and 12.1.5 ties its bonuses to Collapsing Star and Soul Immolation. |
| Devourer Demon Hunter | Annihilator | B | Took the larger hit from the Mastery rework. |
| Devastation Evoker | Scalecommander | B | Best in every content type according to class guides. |
| Devastation Evoker | Flameshaper | C | Competitive only in pure single target. |
| Retribution Paladin | Herald of the Sun | A | The tree Blizzard measured Templar against. |
| Retribution Paladin | Templar | B | Hammer of Light gained 50% on September 22 and still trails. |
| Fury Warrior | Slayer | A | Default for farming. |
| Fury Warrior | Mountain Thane | B | Lightning Strike and Ground Current gained 50% on September 22. |
| Protection Warrior | Colossus | A | 12.1.5 cuts Execute and Revenge Rage cost by 10. |
| Protection Warrior | Mountain Thane | B | Same September 22 buff as Fury, same gap. |
| Subtlety Rogue | Deathstalker | C | The only Subtlety tree worth a Tier 11 attempt. |
| Subtlety Rogue | Trickster | D | Buffed twice and still described by Blizzard as well below. |
| Enhancement Shaman | Stormbringer | A | The default solo tree. |
| Enhancement Shaman | Totemic | B | Player reports after October 6 still rate it behind. |
Blood Death Knight is the notable non-split. San’layn lost AoE on September 22 while Deathbringer gained Exterminate, Reaper’s Mark and Wave of Souls buffs, which pulled both trees into S together.
What moved since 12.1 launched
Patch 12.1 went live August 11, Season 2 opened August 18, and Blizzard has touched something almost every week since. Only PvE lines matter here, because PvP tuning does not follow you into a Delve.
| Date | PvE changes that matter solo | Solo impact |
|---|---|---|
| August 18 | Tier set pre-nerfs to Blood San’layn, Frost DK and Devourer, with baseline compensation | Devourer loses its automatic number one spot. |
| August 25 | Frost DK, Havoc, Vengeance Mastery, Resto Druid, BM Beast Cleave, Ret 4-piece, Demonology and Affliction buffs | BM and Ret climb, Demonology cements S. |
| September 1 | BM and Survival 7%, Havoc 4%, Vengeance mitigation, Frost DK, Feral, Mistweaver, Balance and Windwalker | Frost DK becomes a Nemesis option. |
| September 22 | Blood rework, Deathbringer and Aldrachi buffs, Devourer, Augmentation, Devastation, Disc Atonement, Shadow, Prot Paladin, Templar, Trickster, Mountain Thane | Discipline enters A, hero tree gaps narrow. |
| October 1 | Survival Wildfire Bomb periodic damage 20% hotfix | Survival edges up inside B. |
| October 6 | Unholy Blightfall nerf, Devourer single target, Brewmaster durability, Mistweaver, Trickster, Enhancement | Devourer rises, Unholy dips, Brewmaster firms up. |
| October 13 | 12.1.5 class changes listed below | Small shifts, no tier collapses. |
What 12.1.5 is expected to move
The Promise of Tomorrow tier list differs from the late 12.1 one by inches, not miles. Expect these shifts in the first week after the patch.
- Devourer Demon Hunter climbs toward the top of A because Collapsing Star keeps extra range after the cast starts and no longer locks out for 5 seconds when cancelled.
- Void-Scarred becomes the clear Devourer solo tree once The Hunt resets are tied to Collapsing Star instead of entering Void Metamorphosis.
- Frost Mage slips inside B because the Splitting Ice fix stops the second Frostbolt from hitting at full damage.
- Protection Warrior closes part of the gap to S through a 30% Execute buff and the Colossus Rage discount.
- Marksmanship Hunter trades Unload for Blood Fletching, which raises the reward for crit-heavy gear and lowers it for everything else.
- Outlaw Rogue gains on two and three target pulls, which describes most Delve trash.
- Subtlety Rogue may move in either direction, since Blizzard rewrote its Shadow damage modifiers and has not measured the result.
- Restoration Druid and Preservation Evoker lose nothing of note, because the Nature’s Bounty redesign and the Merithra’s Blessing duration cut matter mostly in groups.
Tier 11 does not raise your Vault. The Delve Vault caps at Tier 8 with Hero 1/6 at item level 305. What Tier 11 buys after the week of October 20 is Ascendant Venomstones, which drop from Tier 11 Bountiful Delves and Nightmare Prey Champion gear chests, plus an uncapped crest flow because the crest cap lifts the same week. Ten Venomstones upgrade only a fully upgraded Hero, Myth or maximum-quality Tidal Crafted weapon, trinket or necklace, used near the Catalyst in Silvermoon City once Orin Straylight finishes his research.
Is S genuinely ahead of A
For Tier 8 farming, no. Beast Mastery, Retribution, Fury and Demonology sit within a single weekly tuning pass of each other, and Blizzard has shipped one almost every week. Treat the farming end of S and A as one tier wearing two labels.
For Tier 11, Nemesis kills and Kindo’jan, yes, and the gap is structural. A tank mitigates auto-attacks by design, and no damage buff makes a cloth caster outrun Azta’rec. That is why tanks hold S across three separate passes while DPS specs bounce around them.
Translation: if you only farm Tier 8, play anything from S or A that you enjoy. If you want the Loa-Blessed Wayfarer, the gap is the job description.
Labyrinth of Kindo’jan: what the ranking rewards
The Labyrinth is nine chambers in one ancient Amani funeral complex, entered from the Zeb’tela Ruins, solo or with up to four other players, with Valeera Sanguinar again as companion. Her role and curios can be swapped at the start and at each new chamber checkpoint. The Labyrinth of Kindo’jan best class is therefore the same spec that farms Delves best without downtime, because nine chambers multiply every drink break by nine.
Every three chambers add two Heavy Trunks and one Bountiful Coffer to the Treasure Room and count as Great Vault progress. Heavy Trunks give double crests, completing three chambers unlocks the next Labyrinth tier, and Bountiful Coffers still eat a Restored Coffer Key. Three Heroic Soul Fragments from those coffers combine into a random Hero 2/6 item. Killing Kindo’jan on Tier 8 or higher grants separate Vault credit once per week per character.
| Labyrinth tier | Recommended item level |
|---|---|
| Tier 4 | 259 |
| Tier 5 | 268 |
| Tier 6 | 275 |
| Tier 7 | 281 |
| Tier 8 | 290 |
| Tier 9 | 296 |
| Tier 10 | 303 |
| Tier 11 | 309 |
The prestige ladder is short and cruel. A Kindo’jan solo Tier 11 kill earns Let Me Solo Him: Kindo’jan and the Loa-Blessed Wayfarer mount, all nine chambers without losing a life earns One-Champion Army and the Lone Raider title, and the first-week Fabled Let Me Solo Him: Kindo’jan grants the Fabled Vanquisher of Kindo’jan title before the first weekly reset. Clearing nine chambers on Tier 11 is Who’s Labyrinth?, which pays out the Maze Runner title.
Labyrinth glove powers, the Ancient Hash’ey Battle Arts, also work in Delves. Squishy specs should look at Ursine’s Ironhide for a defensive shield or Eye of the Lynx for Haste and Leech, while S tier can afford the damage of Heat Wave or Falco Strikes. All four are PTR data and may change before launch.
Nightmare Prey: Torment favors the impatient
Hard and Nightmare hunts end in a solo fight, and Torment stacks damage taken while you dawdle. Season 2 adds Toxic Snare, Exploding Corpse Snakes and Pack Ambush, and the Coiled Isle offers two Hard hunts and one Nightmare hunt per week on top of the regular zones. The best class for Nightmare Prey kills before the stacks matter and steps out of a snare without dropping damage, which means Beast Mastery, Demonology, Vengeance and Retribution.
Nightmare unlocks at Prey Journey rank 4. In 12.1.5, players below rank 4 receive a full 4000 Journey progress per hunt, and players between ranks 4 and 9 receive 2000 from each of their first four weekly hunts. From the week of October 20, Nightmare Champion gear chests also drop Ascendant Venomstones, so an alt that skipped Prey all season can still catch up.
Valeera setup by spec type
Valeera covers your weakness, not your strength. One finding from live play matters more than any curio choice: she scales hard when you are specced into healing.
| Your spec | Default Valeera role | Switch when |
|---|---|---|
| Fragile DPS | Healer | Incoming damage is fully under control. |
| Pet DPS | Healer | You and the pet stay stable without help. |
| Tank | Damage | An unfamiliar boss or undergeared progression. |
| Healer | Damage | Pushing Tier 11 undergeared, then Tank Valeera and heal her. |
| Any spec on a Nemesis | Healer | Her dispel handles poison; keep it unless kill speed fails. |
Play what you already have
The best solo class in 12.1.5 is the one already sitting at item level 300 on your account. A familiar A tier spec with the right interrupt and defensive talents beats an unfamiliar S tier character every time, and rerolling for one tier is how people lose a month.
| Class | Play this solo | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Death Knight | Blood | S tier, and both hero trees work. |
| Demon Hunter | Vengeance | S tier, Devourer for farming speed. |
| Druid | Guardian | S tier with stealth skips. |
| Evoker | Preservation | Healer scaling beats glass Devastation. |
| Hunter | Beast Mastery | S tier with a pet that tanks. |
| Mage | Frost | Best control and survival of the three, even after 12.1.5. |
| Monk | Brewmaster | Near S survival after October 6. |
| Paladin | Protection | S tier, Retribution for weekly speed. |
| Priest | Discipline | Atonement bonus outside raids. |
| Rogue | Assassination | Most forgiving rogue alone. |
| Shaman | Enhancement | Self-healing burst that works without a group. |
| Warlock | Demonology | The Felguard does your job. |
| Warrior | Fury | Fastest farm; Protection for Tier 11. |
Bad on paper, fine in practice, and the reverse
Raid and Mythic+ meters lie about solo content in both directions. These specs look wrong on the charts and play right in a Delve.
- Beast Mastery Hunter has spent weeks near the bottom of raid charts and remains the easiest S tier solo spec in the game.
- Discipline Priest and Preservation Evoker look slow because healers look slow, yet Valeera’s healer scaling turns them into efficient Tier 11 clears.
- Restoration Shaman looks like the worst solo healer and quietly enables Tier 11 at absurdly low item levels with a Tank Valeera.
- Enhancement Shaman underperforms in keys and still holds A alone, because self-healing matters more than ranking parses.
And the reverse, the specs that top a chart and fall over the moment nobody else is in the room.
- Arcane Mage dominates Mythic+ ratings and drops to C because a Nemesis that cannot be kited ignores damage meters.
- Unholy Death Knight looked dominant after a bug fix inflated Blightfall, and the October 6 nerf removes that headroom.
- Augmentation Evoker received some of the biggest personal damage buffs of the season and still has nobody to augment.
- Balance Druid simulates well and has nothing left when the boss reaches melee range.
Where this ranking comes from
Logs, sims and ladders all measure something else. No public log site ranks Delve, Prey or Labyrinth clears reliably, SimulationCraft measures dummy damage and ignores survival, and Mythic+ representation measures group play with healers and tanks attached.
This ranking combines four sources: Blizzard’s live tuning and 12.1.5 patch notes through October 6, Wowhead class writer estimates for each tuning pass, community solo tier lists built from more than four weeks of live Season 2 play, and 12.1.5 PTR data for the Labyrinth. The spec placement weighs survival at Tier 11 and Nemesis fights above Tier 8 speed.
The limits are real. Community solo data carries skill and popularity bias, Labyrinth numbers come from PTR builds and can change at launch, and Kindo’jan has not been tuned for live servers. The best spec for Delves 12.1.5 will be settled by the first week of live Labyrinth clears, not by this page.
Accurate as of
This ranking is accurate as of October 4, 2026, for live patch 12.1 with the October 6 tuning applied as announced and the 12.1.5 patch notes published October 1. It applies to Tier 8 to Tier 11 Delves, Labyrinth of Kindo’jan Tier 8 to 11, Nightmare Prey and solo Nemesis kills at item level 290 to 309. Any hotfix after that date makes parts of it wrong, which is the only promise of tomorrow this page can keep.
What is the best solo spec in WoW 12.1.5?
Vengeance Demon Hunter for Tier 11 and Nemesis kills, Beast Mastery Hunter for easy weekly Tier 8 Delve farming.
Does patch 12.1.5 change the solo tier list?
Barely. Devourer improves, Frost Mage loses a bug, Protection Warrior gains Execute damage, and everything else carries over from 12.1.
Can healers solo Tier 11 Delves and Labyrinths?
Yes. Valeera scales hard when you are specced into healing, and Discipline Priest gains bonus Atonement healing outside raids.
Is Tier 11 worth running over Tier 8?
Not for Vault gear, which caps at Tier 8. From October 20, Tier 11 Bountiful Delves drop Ascendant Venomstones instead.
What item level do I need for Kindo’jan on Tier 11?
The Labyrinth entrance recommends item level 309 for Tier 11, and a solo kill rewards the Loa-Blessed Wayfarer mount.
