WoW Forever Gnomeregan Exiles Reputation Guide

Exalted with the Gnomeregan Exiles in World of Warcraft Forever costs 42,000 reputation counted from Neutral, and the gnomes give you almost none of it. Dun Morogh plus the Gnomeregan quest chain carries a fresh character to roughly Friendly and then stops dead. Everything above that is cloth donated to Bubulo Acerbus in Tinker Town, Ironforge. The reward at the end is permission to buy a mechanical ostrich.

Forever keeps the level cap at 60 and rebuilds vanilla Azeroth rather than replacing it, so faction 54 still runs on the data it inherited. Any WoW Forever Gnomeregan Exiles reputation guide written before the servers open, this one included, is Classic Anniversary data wearing a new badge. Every ID linked below is verified against Gnomeregan Exiles as it exists today. Where Forever has announced nothing, this guide says so instead of inventing a vendor.

Unlocking the faction and finding the quartermaster

There is nothing to unlock. The faction sits at Neutral from character creation, gnomes start Friendly by birth, and no attunement, key or introductory quest opens it. The WoW Forever Gnomeregan Exiles quartermaster is also a disappointment, because he sells nothing. Bubulo Acerbus is a cloth collector with quest markers, not a vendor with a stock list.

Fastest route to Exalted

The WoW Forever exalted grind has exactly two phases, and the second one is shopping. Quests carry the cheap early bands, cloth carries the expensive late ones, and nothing carries the middle for free. Mob grinding does not work at all, because no trogg, leper gnome or Dark Iron in the instance awards faction 54 reputation on kill.

  1. Clear every Dun Morogh quest on the character that wants Exalted, because this band is the only free reputation in the game.
  2. Run the Ironforge and Stormwind chains that point into Gnomeregan before the dungeon turns grey and the quests stop being offered.
  3. Donate 60 Wool Cloth at level 12 to open the donation chain early rather than at 50.
  4. Work the silk and mageweave donations as you pass their level gates, since each one unlocks the next and none of them can be skipped.
  5. Park at Honored before buying riding training, because the 10 percent discount applies to the training and the mount both.
  6. Grind the repeatable runecloth donation until Exalted while buying cloth from the auction house with gold you earned doing something less stupid.

Quests that pay gnome reputation

The Grand BetrayalHigh Tinker MekkatorqueTinker Town, Ironforge

Three details save you a wasted run. Gnogaine is completed outside the instance on the irradiated troggs in the Gnomeregan approach tunnels. Data Rescue starts with a White Punch Card from those same outdoor mobs and ends four Matrix Punchograph machines later. The Only Cure is More Green Glow pays no gnome reputation at all, so skip it unless you want the experience.

Reputation values per quest move between builds and the wikis quote the inflated later numbers. The donation quests are the proof: 150 reputation each in Classic, 350 each in the expansion databases. Plan the route around which quests exist, not around a spreadsheet of rewards you copied from a 2008 wiki page.

Turn-in items and rep tokens

The WoW Forever runecloth turn-in is the entire late game of this faction. Four one time donations open the chain, then one repeatable quest runs forever at 20 cloth per hand in. There are no rep tokens, no commendations and no bonus items from the gnomes themselves.

QuestCostLevelReputation
A Donation of Wool60 Wool Cloth12150
A Donation of Silk60 Silk Cloth26150
A Donation of Mageweave60 Mageweave Cloth40150
A Donation of Runecloth60 Runecloth50150
Additional Runecloth20 Runecloth, repeatable5050

Do the arithmetic before you commit. Revered to Exalted on the repeatable alone is 420 hand ins and 8,400 runecloth. Neutral to Exalted on cloth alone, with the four openers included, is 828 hand ins and roughly 16,560 cloth. Runecloth drops from humanoids level 50 and up, so Eastern Plaguelands, Winterspring, Silithus and any level 60 dungeon full of humanoids all work.

Every point of this reputation is optional. The Gnomeregan Exiles gate no attunement, no raid, no recipe and no piece of gear. If you are not a dwarf who wants to ride a robot, you are grinding 42,000 reputation for a vendor greeting.

One more token exists, but only during a server wide event. The Alliance Commendation Signet from the Ahn’Qiraj war effort buys city reputation at the collector of your choice, roughly 5 reputation per signet and 75 per ten. That is the only case where gnome reputation arrives from something other than quests or cloth.

Rewards by standing

Reading the WoW Forever reputation rewards table for this faction is a short and bleak exercise. Two of the four standings pay nothing whatsoever, and the one that pays is a permission slip rather than an item.

StandingWhat you get
FriendlyNothing, gnomes simply stop being polite at a distance
Honored10 percent discount on gnome riding training and mechanostrider prices
ReveredNothing at all, this band exists to consume 21,000 reputation
ExaltedMechanostrider Piloting training and every mechanostrider on the vendor

Mounts and who can use them

The WoW Forever mechanostrider mount list is the whole prize, and it comes with a race restriction people discover too late. Only gnomes and dwarves can ride mechanostriders. A human or night elf can reach Exalted, pay for the riding skill, buy the mount and never sit on it.

Speed stacks a little further if you care. Mithril Spurs add 4 percent, Enchant Gloves – Riding Skill adds 2 percent, and Carrot on a Stick adds 3 percent from a trinket slot you were not using anyway.

BiS from this content and who wants it

The faction hands out no gear, so the best in slot conversation belongs to the dungeon you are grinding through anyway. These are the pieces worth a detour at level 30 and the one item people still farm at 60.

What the reputation gates

  • Riding training from Binjy Featherwhistle is locked to Exalted for every non gnome.
  • Mechanostrider purchases from Milli Featherwhistle are locked behind the same wall.
  • Discounts of 10 percent on training and mounts arrive at Honored and stop there.
  • No attunement, raid lockout or dungeon key anywhere in the game asks for this reputation.
  • No profession recipe, engineering specialisation included, is sold at any standing.
  • No tabard exists, so the dungeon tabard farming you read about belongs to later expansions.

Lore, briefly

Sicco Thermaplugg convinced High Tinker Mekkatorque to flood Gnomeregan with radiation against a trogg invasion, then sealed the vaults and kept the city. Roughly four fifths of the gnome population died and the survivors moved into a borrowed district of a dwarven city. Since WoW Forever Classic Plus is set in the first year of Azeroth and before Molten Core, the exiles are still exiles, still homeless, and still asking you for bandage material.

That timing matters for anyone expecting a reclamation campaign. Operation: Gnomeregan happens years later in the other timeline, and Forever runs its own continuity, so nothing guarantees the gnomes ever get their city back here.

What Forever could still change

The honest part of the guide. The WoW Forever beta opens on September 17, 2026, and until players are inside it, nobody has seen faction 54 on the new client. Three new zones, over a thousand new quests, nine new dungeons and two new raids ship with the game, and any of that can attach reputation to this faction.

  • New Dun Morogh and Ironforge quests would move the Friendly to Honored band out of cloth territory.
  • A reworked Gnomeregan dungeon could pay reputation on bosses, which the vanilla version never did.
  • The Skyborne race joins both factions, so gnome reputation may need new rules for them.
  • Any Forever quartermaster with actual stock would be the first real reward this faction has offered.

The WoW Forever release date is November 4, 2026, which gives you seven weeks to bank cloth on a Classic character you will not be transferring. Farm the runecloth anyway if it entertains you. Gnomes have been collecting other people’s laundry for twenty years and see no reason to stop.

How much reputation is Exalted with Gnomeregan Exiles?

Forty two thousand from Neutral, split into three thousand, six thousand, twelve thousand and twenty one thousand bands.

Where is the Gnomeregan Exiles quartermaster?

Bubulo Acerbus stands in Tinker Town, Ironforge, and only accepts cloth donations. Mounts come from Milli Featherwhistle.

How much runecloth does Exalted take?

About eight thousand four hundred runecloth to cover Revered to Exalted on the repeatable donation alone.

Can humans ride mechanostriders at Exalted?

No. Only gnomes and dwarves can ride them, so human and night elf Exalted buys you nothing.

Does this reputation gate any raid or recipe?

Nothing in the inherited data. It gates riding training, mechanostrider purchases and a ten percent Honored discount.
