WoW Forever Head Enchants: Every Arcanum, Source and BiS Pick
No profession can put a head slot enchant on your helm in World of Warcraft Forever. Every one of them is a quest reward: Lesser Arcanums from Mathredis Firestar in Burning Steppes, Arcanums from Lorekeeper Lydros in Dire Maul, and class enchants from Zanza the Restless inside Zul’Gurub.
The short answer. Casters run Arcanum of Focus, tanks run Lesser Arcanum of Constitution or Arcanum of Protection, physical damage runs Lesser Arcanum of Voracity. Hit Friendly with the Zandalar Tribe and your class enchant from Zanza replaces all of them. That is the entire BiS logic, the rest is farming and suffering.
Numbers below are Classic baseline values. Forever opened its beta on September 17 and launches November 4, 2026, so check tooltips before you spend a Pristine Black Diamond on a typo.
Every Head Enchant in WoW Forever
World of Warcraft Forever enchants for the head come from three NPCs and nowhere else. The table is the full list, sorted by source.
Each enchant is a single-charge item that works on head or legs. You pick a slot, it gets used, you farm another one for the other slot. Nobody promised this would be efficient.
Lesser Arcanums from Mathredis Firestar
Mathredis Firestar sits in a small cave in northern Burning Steppes at 65.1, 23.6. He runs five repeatable quests, starting with Libram of Constitution, and each one wants a libram, a Black Diamond, zone materials and a 30 gold fee.
- Lesser Arcanum of Constitution costs 1 Libram of Constitution, 1 Black Diamond, 1 Lung Juice Cocktail, 4 Night Dragon’s Breath and 30 gold.
- Lesser Arcanum of Rumination costs 1 Libram of Rumination, 1 Black Diamond, 1 Black Blood of the Tormented, 1 Gizzard Gum and 30 gold.
- Lesser Arcanum of Tenacity costs 1 Libram of Tenacity, 1 Black Diamond, 1 Eye of Kajal, 4 Crystal Ward and 30 gold.
- Lesser Arcanum of Resilience costs 1 Libram of Resilience, 1 Black Diamond, 1 Burning Essence, 4 Crystal Spire and 30 gold.
- Lesser Arcanum of Voracity costs 1 Libram of Voracity, 1 Black Diamond, 4 Whipper Root Tuber, 4 Crystal Force and 30 gold.
Lesser librams drop from level 42 to 58 humanoids in open world zones and dungeons. You can hold only one libram of each type, and the quest needs the libram in your bags before it shows up the first time. Voracity lets you pick the stat when you turn it in, which is the only generous thing Mathredis ever does.
Arcanums from Lorekeeper Lydros
Lorekeeper Lydros lives in the Athenaeum of Dire Maul West. He ignores you until you finish Elven Legends (Horde) or Elven Legends (Alliance), which ends when you mourn Kariel Winthalus next to him. Grief unlocks commerce. Very Highborne.
- Libram of Focus takes 1 Libram of Focus, 1 Pristine Black Diamond, 4 Large Brilliant Shard and 2 Skin of Shadow.
- Libram of Protection takes 1 Libram of Protection, 1 Pristine Black Diamond, 2 Large Brilliant Shards and 1 Frayed Abomination Stitching.
- Libram of Rapidity takes 1 Libram of Rapidity, 1 Pristine Black Diamond, 2 Large Brilliant Shards and 2 Blood of Heroes.
These quests require level 57 and pay 500 Shen’dralar reputation per turn-in. The finished Arcanum binds when picked up and requires level 50, so nobody sells you one. Librams and materials are fair game on the auction house. Anyone searching wow forever librams should know the Dire Maul ones drop from trash and bosses across all three wings.
Zul’Gurub Class Enchants from Zanza
WoW Forever Zul’Gurub enchants need exactly two items and a reputation gate. Get Friendly with the Zandalar Tribe, loot a class Punctured Voodoo Doll from a Jinxed Hoodoo Pile, then take a Primal Hakkari Idol from Jin’do the Hexxer or Bloodlord Mandokir. The Idol drops every kill from both bosses. The doll does not.
Zanza the Restless stands at the top of a small temple past High Priest Venoxis, left of the path toward Mandokir and Mar’li. Looting hoodoo piles often mind controls someone nearby. Loot them with the healer standing far away, or enjoy explaining the wipe.
Savage Guard is the odd one. It needs Honored with the Zandalar Tribe and one finished Lydros Arcanum as payment, all for +10 Nature Resistance. You burn a Pristine Black Diamond to get a resistance enchant. That is a raid assignment, not a choice.
Read this before you click. An enchant binds the helm to you, only one permanent enchant fits the slot, and applying a new one deletes the old one without refund. Lydros Arcanums bind when picked up. Put a Presence of Sight on a helm you replace next week and you just donated a Primal Hakkari Idol to the void.
What Forever Stat Changes Do to Old Enchants
World of Warcraft Forever merges melee, ranged and spell hit into one hit stat and does the same with crit. The 1% hit on Falcon’s Call and the 1% spell hit on Presence of Sight should count for every attack you make, which quietly makes both enchants better for hybrids and pet classes.
Bonus healing in Forever also grants one-third of its value as spell damage. If that rule reaches enchants, Prophetic Aura, Animist’s Caress and Syncretist’s Sigil pick up roughly +8 damage each. Healers finally deal enough damage to kill a boar before it dies of old age.

On the WoW Forever enchanting changes side, enchanters got ring enchants, staves, relics and neck formulas. None of it touches the head. Blizzard gave you new toys and kept the helm in the same old torture chamber.

This is the best head enchant WoW Forever players can realistically chase per spec. BiS assumes Zul’Gurub access, budget assumes you have a Black Diamond and patience.

Resistance helms are separate. Use Lesser Arcanum of Resilience on a fire set and Savage Guard on a nature set. Warriors, Retribution Paladins and feral Druids get no Zanza damage enchant, which is Blizzard’s way of saying melee hybrids should feel grateful for eight Strength.
Budget vs BiS: What It Really Costs
Forever has no auction data yet, so prices are ranked by pain, not gold. Here is the WoW Forever BiS enchants cost ladder from cheapest to most humiliating.
- Lesser Arcanums are the budget tier because Black Diamonds are common and the rest is legwork plus 30 gold.
- Arcanum of Protection and Arcanum of Rapidity are the mid tier because they need one Pristine Black Diamond and only two Large Brilliant Shards.
- Arcanum of Focus is the priciest Lydros option because it eats four Large Brilliant Shards on top of the diamond.
- Zanza enchants cost no gold but demand a raid lockout, a class doll and Friendly reputation.
- Savage Guard is the worst deal because it consumes a finished Arcanum for a single resistance stat.
Rule of thumb. Spend Lesser Arcanums while leveling past 50 and gearing in dungeons. Spend Pristine Black Diamonds only on a helm you will wear through the first raid tier.

Un’Goro pylons only accept crystals after the Marshal’s Refuge power crystal quests. Read ahead once, or run between pylons eight times like everyone before you.
Non-Enchanter Options for the Head Slot
The Classic Plus head enchant situation is simple: nobody crafts one. Here is what each profession offers for your helm in Forever, based on everything shown so far.
- Enchanting gets ring enchants, staves and relics, and still has zero head formulas.
- Blacksmithing gets belt buckles for the waist, and nothing for the head.
- Leatherworking gets bracer armor kits, and its classic kits never covered helms.
- Tailoring gets embroidery for cloth gear, with no head specific bonus announced.
- Engineering gets new schematics and no profession stat bonus, and nothing that enchants a helm.
- Reputation is the real profession here, with Zandalar Tribe for class enchants and Shen’dralar for Lydros turn-ins.
So the non-enchanter route and the enchanter route are the same route. Congratulations, equality.
Overwrites, Stacking and When to Re-Enchant
One WoW Forever helm enchant per slot, full stop. Every tooltip says it does not stack with other enchantments for that slot, and a new enchant silently replaces the old one.
- Head and leg enchants are separate slots, so Arcanum of Focus on both pieces does stack.
- Two Arcanums on the same helm never stack, because the second overwrites the first.
- Enchanting soulbinds the helm, so a BoE helm you enchant can no longer be sold.
- Lydros Arcanums bind when picked up, so buy the libram and materials, never the finished Arcanum.
- Re-enchant when the new helm is a real upgrade you keep for a full raid tier.
- Keep a Lesser Arcanum on stand-by helms and save Zanza enchants for the one you actually raid in.
