WoW Forever Ranged Enchants: Every Scope, Source and BiS Pick
Short version for people who stop reading here: the only WoW Forever ranged enchant is an Engineering scope. Sniper Scope (+7 damage, weapon level 40) is the pick at launch for anyone who shoots things, and Biznicks 247×128 Accurascope (+3% ranged hit) only takes over once Molten Core opens and you are still under the hit cap. Anyone can apply a scope. Only the person crafting it needs Engineering.
Enchanting has no formula for this slot. Neither do reputation vendors, Blacksmithing, Leatherworking or Tailoring. If you came hunting for classic plus ranged enchants hidden behind some faction grind, there are none, and wands or thrown weapons get nothing at all. The numbers below are the old ruleset Forever is built on; the beta (September 17 to October 21) either confirms them or this page changes.
Every Ranged Slot Enchant and Its Numbers
| Scope | Bonus | Weapon level | Engineering skill | How to learn |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Crude Scope | +1 damage | 5 | 60 | Trainer |
| Standard Scope | +2 damage | 10 | 110 | Trainer |
| Accurate Scope | +3 damage | 20 | 180 | Schematic: Accurate Scope, vendor |
| Deadly Scope | +5 damage | 30 | 210 | Schematic: Deadly Scope, vendor |
| Sniper Scope | +7 damage | 40 | 240 | Schematic: Sniper Scope, world drop |
| Biznicks 247×128 Accurascope | +3% ranged hit | 50 | 300 | Schematic: Biznicks 247×128 Accurascope, raid drop |
Six scopes, two stats, zero creativity. Four of them are leveling filler you will overwrite within ten levels. The real decision at 60 is flat damage against hit chance, and Forever makes that decision for you at launch by not having the raid that drops the hit scope.
How Scopes Work, and How They Fail
Every WoW Forever scope is a stackable item, not a spell. You right-click it and pick your weapon, so the gold matters and the profession does not. Flat damage lands on every shot that uses weapon damage: Auto Shot, Multi-Shot and Aimed Shot, which the Forever demo made baseline instead of locking it inside Marksmanship. Because the bonus is per hit, a fast bow squeezes more value out of +7 than a slow gun does.
- Scopes attach to bows, guns and crossbows, and nothing else.
- Wands and thrown weapons cannot take a scope, so casters and knife throwers can close this tab.
- The weapon must meet the scope level, which is why a Sniper Scope refuses your level 20 bow.
- A non-engineer can buy a scope and apply it personally, including to Bind on Pickup weapons.
- An engineer can also install it through the trade window slot marked for items that will not be traded.
- A weapon holds one permanent enchant, so a new scope deletes the old one without refund.
Where Every Schematic Drops, Is Sold or Is Taught
| Schematic | Source | Location | Coordinates |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crude Scope, Standard Scope | Engineering trainer | Any trainer | None needed |
| Schematic: Accurate Scope | Mazk Snipeshot | Booty Bay, Stranglethorn Vale | /way 28.4, 75.0 |
| Schematic: Deadly Scope | Knaz Blunderflame | Stranglethorn Vale, south of Mosh’Ogg Ogre Mound | /way 51.0, 35.2 |
| Schematic: Deadly Scope | Yuka Screwspigot | Burning Steppes | /way 66.1, 21.9 |
| Schematic: Sniper Scope | World drop | Level 40+ mobs, chests, lockboxes | None |
| Schematic: Biznicks 247×128 Accurascope | Magmadar and other bosses, Bind on Pickup | Molten Core | Not in the launch build |
Vendor schematics are limited stock. Buy one, and the next buyer waits for a respawn while glaring at you. The WoW Forever Deadly Scope schematic sits with two goblins: Knaz Blunderflame hides on a hill you climb from /way 49, 38, and Yuka Screwspigot is the lazier trip for anyone already farming the 50s.
Schematic: Sniper Scope has no vendor and no fixed owner. It falls off level 40+ mobs, chests and lockboxes across the world at a rate designed to make you buy it on the auction house. Forever revamps several classic zones, so treat every coordinate above as a starting point, not a promise.
Material Cost and What It Takes to Apply
| Scope | Reagents | Raw shopping list |
|---|---|---|
| Crude Scope | Copper Tube, Malachite, Handful of Copper Bolts | 3 Copper Bar, 1 Weak Flux, 1 Malachite |
| Standard Scope | Bronze Tube, Moss Agate | 2 Bronze Bar, 1 Weak Flux, 1 Moss Agate |
| Accurate Scope | Bronze Tube, Jade, Citrine | 2 Bronze Bar, 1 Weak Flux, 1 Jade, 1 Citrine |
| Deadly Scope | Mithril Tube, 2 Aquamarine, 2 Thick Leather | 3 Mithril Bar, 2 Aquamarine, 2 Thick Leather |
| Sniper Scope | Mithril Tube, Star Ruby, 2 Truesilver Bar | 3 Mithril Bar, 1 Star Ruby, 2 Truesilver Bar |
| Biznicks 247×128 Accurascope | 2 Lava Core, 2 Essence of Earth, 4 Delicate Arcanite Converter, 6 Dark Iron Bar, 1 Thorium Tube | Raid materials plus a small mortgage |
Crafting needs an Arclight Spanner in the bags, and Sniper Scope also demands a Blacksmith Hammer. Applying the finished scope needs nothing except the right weapon level. The honest WoW Forever engineering guide advice for scopes: Crude and Standard are skill-up fodder, Deadly and Sniper are the only ones people actually buy.
Forever has no economy yet, so any gold figure today is fiction. Ranking is safe: Sniper and Deadly cost tube, gem and leather pocket change, while Biznicks historically ran around 300 gold in materials on old realms, before anyone added the markup for owning the only schematic on the server.
Sniper Scope: The Launch Pick Nobody Argues With
The WoW Forever Sniper Scope is +7 damage per shot on any level 40 or higher bow, gun or crossbow. The materials are mining leftovers, the schematic is the only expensive part, and it goes on every weapon you will keep for more than a week. Put it on at 40 and keep re-buying it until you are 60.
Deadly Scope is the step below it: +5 damage from level 30, sold instead of dropped. Hunters between 30 and 39 run Deadly. Everyone else between 30 and 39 does not care.
Biznicks 247×128 Accurascope: The Raid Tax
The WoW Forever Biznicks Accurascope gives +3% chance to hit with the ranged weapon and nothing for melee. The schematic is a Bind on Pickup drop from Molten Core bosses such as Magmadar, requires 300 Engineering, and the scope itself needs a level 50 weapon.
Forever launches in a time bubble set before Molten Core. The first raids on December 9 are Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit, not Molten Core, so the Biznicks schematic cannot drop at launch. Anyone selling you a Biznicks scope in November is selling you a screenshot.
When it does arrive, the math is simple. Hit only matters until misses stop. The WoW Forever hunter hit cap under the classic table sits around 9% against level 63 raid bosses; every percent of hit gear beyond that makes Biznicks dead weight, and Sniper wins back the slot.
Best Scope per Class and Role
| Class | Role | While leveling | At level 60 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hunter | Ranged damage | Deadly at 30, Sniper at 40 | Sniper; Biznicks after Molten Core if under the hit cap |
| Hunter | Melee Survival | Cheapest scope that fits | Sniper for pulls; Biznicks is wasted |
| Warrior | Tank | Nothing, or Accurate for pulling | Sniper if your pulls are shot, not charged |
| Warrior | Damage | Nothing | Nothing, or Sniper if gold is embarrassing you |
| Rogue | Damage | Nothing | Sniper for pulls, otherwise nothing |
| Mage, Priest, Warlock | Wand users | Nothing | Nothing, wands cannot take scopes |
| Druid, Paladin, Shaman | No ranged weapon | Nothing | Nothing |
Forever reworks Survival into a melee tree, which splits hunters into two very different shopping lists. Any World of Warcraft Forever hunter BiS list for ranged builds ends with Sniper at launch and Biznicks later. The melee Survival list ends with the cheapest scope that lets you pull without shame, because 3% ranged hit does nothing for Mongoose Bite.
Budget Option vs BiS Option
| Level bracket | Budget | BiS |
|---|---|---|
| 5 to 19 | Crude Scope or Standard Scope | Standard Scope, if the weapon lasts |
| 20 to 29 | Nothing, or Standard | Accurate Scope |
| 30 to 39 | Accurate Scope | Deadly Scope |
| 40 to 59 | Deadly Scope | Sniper Scope |
| 60 at launch | Deadly Scope on a temporary weapon | Sniper Scope |
| 60 after Molten Core | Sniper Scope | Biznicks, until hit capped |
Most WoW Forever best in slot enchants are about squeezing a few percent; this slot is about not wasting gold on weapons you replace next dungeon. Budget means one tier lower on a weapon that will not survive the week. BiS means the top scope your weapon level allows.
What Overwrites, What Stacks, When to Re-Enchant
- A new scope overwrites the current one after a confirmation prompt, and the old scope is simply gone.
- Scope damage stacks with arrow or bullet damage, because ammo is its own bonus.
- Biznicks hit stacks with hit from gear and talents until the cap turns it into decoration.
- No temporary enchant exists for this slot, since stones and oils are made for melee weapons.
- Forever Alchemy adds Ranged Attack Power flasks, and a flask stacks with any scope.
Re-apply a scope in exactly these situations, and nowhere else:
- You equip a new bow, gun or crossbow, because enchants never transfer.
- Your weapon crosses the 30, 40 or 50 level threshold for a better scope.
- Molten Core opens and your hit is below the cap, so Biznicks replaces Sniper on your final weapon.
- Your hit gear pushes you over the cap, so the next weapon gets Sniper instead of another Biznicks.
What is the best ranged enchant in WoW Forever at launch?
Sniper Scope, adding 7 damage per shot to level 40 or higher bows, guns and crossbows until Molten Core opens.
Can I get Biznicks 247×128 Accurascope when Forever launches?
No. Its schematic drops only in Molten Core, and Forever launches before Molten Core exists in the timeline.
Do I need Engineering to use a scope?
No. Only the crafter needs Engineering; anyone can buy a scope and apply it to their own weapon.
Can wands or thrown weapons take a scope?
No. Scopes attach only to bows, guns and crossbows, so wand users and throwers get nothing here.
Where do I buy Schematic: Deadly Scope?
Knaz Blunderflame in Stranglethorn Vale at 51.0, 35.2 or Yuka Screwspigot in Burning Steppes at 66.1, 21.9.
