WoW Forever Scarlet Monastery Graveyard Guide

WoW Forever Scarlet Monastery Graveyard is the far left portal inside the monastery in the northeast corner of Tirisfal Glades, no key required, five players, levels 26 to 36, two bosses and three rare elites. The bosses are Interrogator Vishas in the torture chamber and Bloodmage Thalnos in the crypt at the back. A clean run takes under thirty minutes, and roughly half of that is your group arguing about the dagger.

Blizzard announced World of Warcraft: Forever on September 12, 2026, with beta on September 17 and launch on November 4. Nothing published so far retires Scarlet Monastery or rewrites its wings, so everything below runs on Classic Anniversary data, which is the ruleset the World of Warcraft Forever dungeons inherit until a beta build proves otherwise. Where Blizzard has published nothing, this guide says so instead of inventing a patch note.

Entrance and coordinates

The WoW Forever Scarlet Monastery entrance sits in the northeast corner of Tirisfal Glades, on the road that climbs away from Brill and the Undercity. The meeting stone is outside the main gate. Walk through the courtyard, up the long corridor, and you reach the pillared hall with four portals, roughly around 85.0, 30.0 on the zone map.

  • Horde players leave the Undercity and follow the northeast road until the building appears, which takes a few minutes on foot.
  • Alliance players without a mount usually run north from Southshore in Hillsbrad Foothills, swim Lordamere Lake, surface on the Silverpine border and take the Tirisfal road east.
  • Alliance players at level forty with a mount can instead come west out of Western Plaguelands past the Bulwark, which is faster and only slightly more suicidal.
  • All four wings sit on the same internal map, so a stray fall or an unlucky port can drop you into the wrong graveyard entirely.

Level range and group size

The WoW Forever dungeon level range for this wing is 26 to 36, with 29 to 33 being the band where nothing goes wrong and nobody has to apologise. Minimum entry level for any Scarlet Monastery wing is 21, which is a trap, not an invitation. Three or four competent players clear the Graveyard comfortably, because most of the trash here is non elite undead rather than elite humans.

Best comps for the Graveyard

One tank, one healer, three damage dealers is the default and the Graveyard punishes deviation less than any other wing. The thing that actually decides your run speed is crowd control that works on undead, because Polymorph and Sap both fail on most of what lives back there.

  • A Priest is the single best pick because Shackle Undead works on nearly every pack in the wing.
  • A Warrior with a shield tanks this fine, though a Druid or Paladin holds these packs just as well at this level.
  • A Mage earns its slot on the open graveyard pulls with area damage rather than on single targets.
  • A Rogue can Sap the Scarlet Torturers in the first room, which is the only place Sap is worth a talent point here.
  • A Warlock brings Curse of Recklessness, which stops wounded humans from running off to collect friends.
  • A Paladin or Shaman can heal this wing and still contribute damage, which matters when the group is three people deep.

Route

The layout is linear and there is no branch worth taking. Any WoW Forever Graveyard boss guide that offers you a shortcut is describing a different dungeon.

  1. Enter the far left portal and clear the short entry corridor, which mixes Scarlet humans with risen undead.
  2. Take the torture chamber on your right, where Interrogator Vishas stands beside a rack with one add and several patrolling pairs nearby.
  3. Talk to Vorrel Sengutz among the victims after Vishas dies, because he only offers his quest once the interrogator is gone.
  4. Push out into the open graveyard and clear it in sweeps rather than diagonals, since the tomb rows hide patrols.
  5. Kill every isolated undead you pass, because those are the rare spawn points and skipping them costs you the rare loot.
  6. Clear the approach to the crypt at the far end before pulling Bloodmage Thalnos, because his area damage plus loose trash is how three player groups die here.
  7. Loot, reset or walk out, and remember the wing respawns if you take too long.

Trash and mob abilities

MobTypeWhat it does to you
Scarlet TorturerElite humanoidMelee with a fire damage over time effect, sappable, and chatty about it
Unfettered SpiritUndead wraithPlain melee, marks rare spawn points when standing alone
Haunting PhantasmElite shadeSummons an Illusionary Phantasm add for one minute
Anguished DeadUndeadPacks of two to four, shackleable, harmless in isolation
Scarlet Crusade castersHumanoidRanged damage, will run at low health and pull the next pack

Two rules cover every trash pull in this wing. Do not let a wounded human leave, and do not stand in the middle of a tomb row while the tank is body pulling something you cannot see.

Five instance entries per hour is a hard cap. Farmers who reset the Graveyard back to back hit the wall after four or five runs, get told they have entered too many instances recently, and find a solid barrier where the portal used to be. Plan the farm around the timer instead of discovering it at run five with a full group waiting outside.

Interrogator Vishas

Level 32 elite humanoid, first boss, no mechanics worth a raid frame. He casts Immolate and hits reasonably hard for the bracket, and he is almost always pulled with one add that may be a caster or a torturer. Kill the add first, tank Vishas away from the door, and stop anything from wandering in. Treat WoW Forever Interrogator Vishas as a gear check for your healer’s mana bar and nothing more.

  • His real name is James Vishas and he is the Crusade’s lead interrogator, which is relevant to a quest later.
  • He yells at four separate health thresholds, which is the closest thing this fight has to a timer.
  • He can be soloed comfortably by most classes in the low forties, which is why the room is permanently occupied.

Bloodmage Thalnos

Level 34 elite undead, final boss, and the only fight in the wing that rewards positioning. WoW Forever Bloodmage Thalnos is a caster fight from start to finish, so magic mitigation matters more than armour and your healer should be watching the melee cluster rather than the tank.

Shadow BoltSingle target shadow damageInterrupt it if you have a kick, otherwise heal through it
Flame SpikeGround based fire damage in melee rangeMelee spread out, do not stack on the tank
Fire NovaFire damage around ThalnosRanged stay well back, healers pre heal the melee

Spell identifiers for Fire Nova disagree across the major databases, so this guide names the ability and refuses to link a number it cannot confirm. Everything else here is linked to a verified identifier.

Rare spawns and how to force them

Three rare elites share the Graveyard, each with roughly a five percent chance to be present. There are six spawn points in the wing, and every one of them is marked by an undead standing alone rather than in a group. Kill the loner, wait ten to fifteen minutes for the point to repopulate, and roll again. Resetting the instance works too and is faster if you have a second run to burn.

Call of the Grave can keep ticking after Azshir is dead, so do not congratulate yourself until the debuff falls off. During Scourge Invasion style world events, older versions of the game also spawned an extra encounter in this wing, and Blizzard has published nothing about event content in Forever.

Loot table

The reason the wing never empties. Scarlet Monastery Graveyard loot WoW Forever players care about is the level 29 twink bracket, where Torturing Poker and Cobalt Crusher have been ruining battlegrounds for two decades.

Bind on equip drops from the level 30 to 39 pool appear on Graveyard trash as well, and those are what actually pay for your mount.

Quests

Two quests touch the Graveyard and both are Horde. Alliance players have nothing to hand in from this wing at all, which is worth knowing before you swim a lake for it.

Farming the Graveyard at max level

Rogues and Druids stealth to Vishas, kill him, reset and repeat, which is the cheapest dagger farm in the game and the reason his drop rate feels personal. Mages clear the open graveyard for cloth and the bind on equip pool instead. Expect Silk Cloth as the bulk of your bags and Goldthorn if you have herbalism.

Lore

The building was the Old Monastery, a training ground for Lordaeron’s priesthood and a centre of learning. The Third War ended that. The Scarlet Crusade took the complex as a forward base, decided that every non human is a plague carrier, and started proving it in the torture chamber you clear first.

The Graveyard is the wing the Crusade is losing. The dead beneath it have risen, and the wing is a running fight between Scourge remnants and Crusaders who still believe the Light will sort this out. Vishas tortures Forsaken prisoners for secrets they do not have, which is how Vorrel Sengutz ends up giving you a quest with his last breath. Thalnos holds the crypt at the back, an undead spellcaster in a building dedicated to destroying undead, which nobody inside seems to find awkward.

Forever places all of this after the Forsaken Kingdom campaign from Warcraft III Reforged and before Molten Core, in a continuity Blizzard has openly described as separate from the modern game. The monastery sits at the edge of Riverglade, a new coastal zone on the eastern side of the Eastern Kingdoms, which means the Crusade now has neighbours it did not have in 2004.

What Forever has not published yet

Honest section, short section. Blizzard has named three new zones, nine new dungeons, two raids and more than a thousand new quests, and has not published a single line about Scarlet Monastery wing layouts, boss tuning or loot changes. Coverage of the new WoW Forever Riverglade dungeon implies the monastery survives intact, since the selling point is that you no longer have to run it a few hundred more times.

  • Party size for the new dungeons has not been published, and five remains the assumption for old ones.
  • No group finder decision has been announced, so plan on chat channels and a long walk.
  • Level 60 remains the cap, so the Graveyard stays a leveling stop rather than a scaled endgame dungeon.
  • Beta opens September 17, 2026, which is when any real WoW Forever beta dungeon guide can start replacing assumptions with logs.

What level should I run the Forever Graveyard at?

Twenty six is the floor, but twenty nine to thirty three keeps the run clean and fast.

Do I need The Scarlet Key for the Graveyard?

No, the Graveyard is the far left portal and opens for anyone, unlike the Armory and Cathedral doors.

How do I make the Graveyard rare elites spawn?

Kill undead standing alone at the six spawn points, then wait ten to fifteen minutes or reset the instance.

Can three players clear the wing?

Yes, three well geared players around level thirty two clear it, since most Graveyard trash is non elite undead.

Has Blizzard changed Scarlet Monastery for Forever?

Nothing has been published about wing layouts, tuning or loot, so treat Classic Anniversary data as current until beta.
