WoW Forever Warlock Class Quests: Every Chain From 1 to 60

WoW Forever warlock class quests hand you your whole kit in pieces: the Voidwalker at 10, the Sayaad at 20, the Felhunter at 30, the Felsteed at 40, the Infernal at 50 to 55, and the Doomguard plus Dreadsteed at 60. The pets and both mounts are quest locked, so skipping a chain means skipping a spell. The level 60 steed is the expensive one: roughly 418 gold in vendor costs, a Scholomance run, a Dire Maul West run and a pile of crafted materials.

World of Warcraft: Forever goes live on November 4, 2026, with beta from September 17. Blizzard has not published Forever changes to any Warlock class chain, so every step, drop and price below is the Classic-era baseline until beta data says otherwise. Old questgivers, old bindings, old suffering. Nobody promised you a rework.

Every Warlock class quest in order

Level is the unlock level. Group means the hardest step of the chain, not the whole thing.

What Forever changes around the chains

The quests are the old ones. The class wearing them is not. Talent data from the BlizzCon demo shows damage over time effects that can crit, Bane of Agony replacing the old curse slot logic, Incinerate as the Destruction capstone and a new Drain Hope spell. None of that touches questgivers, but it changes which pets you actually summon afterwards.

  • Troll Warlock is a new launch combination, and trolls share the Valley of Trials with orcs, so expect the Orgrimmar route.
  • The Succubus is called the Sayaad in Forever captures, and its Demonic Sacrifice now grants Fire damage instead of the old role.
  • Demonic Sacrifice in the Forever capture also turns the Imp into a Shadow damage buff, the Voidwalker into mana and the Felhunter into health.
  • Undead lose Fear immunity on Will of the Forsaken, which makes your Fear far more reliable against Forsaken players.
  • Forever uses a Burning Crusade style mount model where gold goes into riding training, and how that interacts with the free Warlock steeds is unpublished.
  • Unique dungeon boss drops are raised to at least blue quality, so some old quest rewards will look worse next to them than they did in 2004.

Those Forever captures also decide the value of WoW Forever warlock pets: the Imp and Sayaad sacrifices now feed your two schools, which makes the Sayaad chain less of a PvP toy and more of a raid requirement.

Level 1 to 4: Summon Imp

Talk to the trainer the game points you to, kill whatever they name, get the Imp. It takes ten minutes and is the only chain nobody complains about.

Level 10: Summon Voidwalker

The WoW Forever Voidwalker quest is short, solo and non-negotiable. Tanking with Torment and Suffering while you Life Tap is how a cloth wearer survives levels 10 to 20.

Undead route, Undercity.

  1. Take Halgar’s Summons from Ageron Kargal upstairs in the Brill inn.
  2. Speak to Carendin Halgar on the east side of the Mage Quarter and accept Creature of the Void.
  3. Loot Egalin’s Grimoire from the chest in the ruined Scarlet tower west of the Undercity entrance.
  4. Accept The Binding, use Runes of Summoning in the purple circle beside Halgar and kill the Voidwalker.

Orc and Troll route, Orgrimmar.

  1. Take Gan’rul’s Summons from Ophek in Razor Hill.
  2. Find Gan’rul Bloodeye in the Cleft of Shadows and accept Creature of the Void.
  3. Enter Skull Rock east of the Orgrimmar gate, take the left fork and loot Tablet of Verga from the small chest.
  4. Accept The Binding, use Glyphs of Summoning in the circle near Gan’rul and kill the demon.

Human and Gnome route, Stormwind.

  1. Humans take Gakin’s Summons in Goldshire, gnomes take The Slaughtered Lamb in Ironforge.
  2. Speak to Gakin the Darkbinder in the Slaughtered Lamb basement and accept Surena Caledon.
  3. Kill Surena Caledon at the farm southwest of Eastvale Logging Camp and loot Surena’s Choker.
  4. Accept The Binding, use Bloodstone Choker on the basement circle and kill the Summoned Voidwalker.

Level 20: Summon Sayaad

The WoW Forever succubus quest rewards the best leveling pet plus a Small Soul Pouch. Seduction and Lesser Invisibility make it the PvP pick too. Every summoned Sayaad hits hard, so fight it at full mana with the Voidwalker out.

Undead route. The single most cheerfully evil quest in the game.

  1. Accept Devourer of Souls from Carendin Halgar and walk a few steps north to Godrick Farsan.
  2. Accept Hearts of the Pure, which asks you to murder two decent men for their hearts.
  3. Kill Dalin Forgewright in southern Silverpine Forest for Dalin’s Heart.
  4. Kill Comar Villard on the northern Wetlands road for Comar’s Heart, and grab the Hillsbrad flight path on the way.
  5. Accept The Binding, use Pure Hearts in Halgar’s circle and kill the Summoned Succubus.

Orc and Troll route. Mostly a flight path tour with a prisoner at the end.

  1. Accept Devourer of Souls from Gan’rul and speak to Cazul nearby for Blind Cazul.
  2. Find Zankaja in the building south of the Cleft’s west exit and accept News of Dogran.
  3. Report to Gazrog at the Crossroads for the second News of Dogran.
  4. Travel to Ken’zigla in southern Stonetalon Mountains and accept Ken’zigla’s Draught.
  5. Hand the draught to Grunt Logmar at Camp Taurajo and accept Dogran’s Captivity.
  6. Free Grunt Dogran north of Camp Taurajo, finish Love’s Gift and bind the Sayaad in Gan’rul’s circle.

Human and Gnome route.

  1. Accept Devourer of Souls from Gakin, gnomes first get routed there from Ironforge.
  2. Travel to Takar the Seer in The Barrens, across from Camp Taurajo, and accept Heartswood.
  3. Go to northwest Ashenvale near 31, 31 and click the root of the corrupted tree guarded by Dark Strand casters to get Heartswood.
  4. Return to Gakin, accept The Binding and use Heartswood Core on the basement circle.

Later Classic builds added parallel Incubus chains: What Is Love? in Stormwind, Hearts of the Lovers in Undercity, Love Hurts and Wish You Were Here in Orgrimmar. If Forever keeps the Sayaad as one spell, those quests are the obvious candidate for merging.

Level 20 to 25: The Orb of Soran’ruk

The Orb of Soran’ruk starts at Doan Karhan in The Barrens at /way 49.2 57.2 and can be picked up at 20. It is sharable, which is the only kind thing about it.

  • Loot 3 Soran’ruk Fragments from Twilight Acolytes in Blackfathom Deeps.
  • Loot 1 Large Soran’ruk Fragment from Shadowfang Darksoul in Shadowfang Keep.
  • Pick Staff of Soran’ruk if you have no staff, or the Orb of Soran’ruk if you already carry a dungeon weapon.

Level 30: Summon Felhunter

The WoW Forever felhunter quest buys Spell Lock, Devour Magic and a Box of Souls. Both factions meet at Strahad Farsan on the hill behind the Ratchet buildings, next to his tower.

  1. Take Seeking Strahad from your city Warlock questgiver and fly to Ratchet.
  2. Accept Tome of the Cabal from Strahad, which sends Horde to Jorah Annison in the Undercity Mage Quarter (Horde step) and Alliance to Krom Stoutarm in the Hall of Explorers (Alliance step).
  3. Accept the book parts step (Horde or Alliance).
  4. Grab the Moldy Tome off the ground by the fourth murloc hut west along the southwest Hillsbrad coast.
  5. Loot the Tattered Manuscript in Stonehoof Hold, Thousand Needles, sticking to the right path and crossing the stream.
  6. Accept the rods step (Horde or Alliance) and farm 3 Rod of Channeling from Dragonmaw Bonewarders and Dragonmaw Shadowwarders in the Wetlands.
  7. Bring everything to Strahad, accept The Binding, use Tome of the Cabal in his circle and kill the Summoned Felhunter.

The Moldy Tome sits in a murloc crowd with patrols. Put a Soulstone on yourself, send the Voidwalker in with Suffering and loot while the fish are busy.

Level 30 to 40: the optional gear chains

Menara Voidrender waits in Ratchet like every other Warlock with a shopping list. The robe is the classic trap: a week of errands for a chest piece the next dungeon replaces.

Nothing in this guide is marked as confirmed Forever data because Blizzard has not published any. Quest steps, drop rates and gold costs come from the Classic-era chains. Forever already rewrote talents, racials, item quality and the mount model, so check each chain once beta goes live on September 17 before you spend 418 gold on assumptions.

Level 40: Summon Felsteed

The WoW Forever felsteed chain is two conversations. Take Summon Felsteed from your city Warlock trainer at 40, ride or walk to Strahad Farsan in Ratchet, then complete the second Summon Felsteed to learn Summon Felsteed.

In Classic Era the spell came with Apprentice Riding for free. Forever moves mount gold into riding training, and nobody has said whether Warlocks still skip that bill. Budget for the training until proven otherwise.

Level 50 to 52: Impsy’s Minion and Sunken Temple

  1. Take An Imp’s Request from a city Warlock trainer, or Hot and Itchy in Felwood, and bring one Felcloth.
  2. Find Impsy beside Niby north of Bloodvenom Falls, around /way 41 44 in Felwood.
  3. Finish The Wrong Stuff by collecting what Impsy lists.
  4. Accept Trolls of a Feather and kill Gasher, Zul’Lor, Mijan, Hukku, Zolo and Loro on the Sunken Temple balconies for 6 Voodoo Feathers.

Robes of Servitude carries both Fire and Shadow damage, which makes it the pick for leveling. Soul Harvester is the staff. The Abyss Shard summons a Voidwalker, which only matters to people who enjoy clicking trinkets.

Level 50 to 55: Summon Infernal

The WoW Forever infernal quest is solo but drop-rate hostile. It starts with What Niby Commands from Niby the Almighty, who only tells you to talk to his Imp.

  1. Accept Flawless Fel Essence from Impsy.
  2. Farm Flawless Fel Essence (Jaedenar) from Jaedenar Legionnaires inside the Jaedenar cave at /way 35 58, roughly a 5 percent drop.
  3. Farm Flawless Fel Essence (Azshara) from Legashi Satyrs, Legashi Rogues and Legashi Hellcallers in far northeast Azshara, 1 to 3 percent, bring patience.
  4. Farm Flawless Fel Essence (Dark Portal) from Felguard Sentries by the Dark Portal in Blasted Lands, around 10 percent.
  5. Accept Kroshius’ Infernal Core, use Fel Fire on the dormant Kroshius in Felwood, kill him and loot Kroshius’ Infernal Core.

Turn in for Inferno and Shard of the Green Flame. Kroshius hits hard at 55, so bring a Healthstone and the Voidwalker.

Level 60: Summon Doomguard

The WoW Forever doomguard quest belongs to Daio the Decrepit in the north of the Tainted Scar, Blasted Lands.

  1. Accept The Prison’s Bindings and loot 15 Satyr Blood from wildspawn satyrs in the Warpwood Quarter of Dire Maul, around 80 percent each.
  2. Accept The Prison’s Casing and loot 5 Tears of the Hederine from Hederine Initiates, Manastalkers and Slayers in Darkwhisper Gorge, southern Winterspring.
  3. Accept Suppression and channel Glowing Crystal Prison on a Doomguard Commander south of Daio.
  4. Let the Voidwalker take aggro, start the channel, and Sacrifice it when the Commander turns to you.
  5. Return Imprisoned Doomguard for Ritual of Doom and Tome of Sacrifice.

Level 60: Summon Dreadsteed

The WoW Forever dreadsteed quest begins at the Demon trainer with Mor’zul Bloodbringer. Mor’zul stands near the Altar of Storms in northwest Burning Steppes, and Gorzeeki Wildeyes is next to him at /way 12.6 31.6.

Part one runs two branches in parallel.

  1. Accept Rage of Blood and loot 30 Raging Beast’s Blood from Winterspring owlbeasts.
  2. Turn it in and deliver the case to Gorzeeki for Wildeyes.
  3. Accept Lord Banehollow, buy Shadowy Potions and walk to Shadow Hold at the back of Jaedenar in Felwood.
  4. Drink a potion, speak to Lord Banehollow at the bottom and accept Ulathek the Traitor.
  5. Kill Ulathek and his four guards in the eastern hovel for The Traitor’s Heart.
  6. Accept Xorothian Stardust, pay Ur’dan 150 gold and return to Gorzeeki.

Part two is materials, a dungeon and a ritual.

  1. Pick up Bell of Dethmoora, Wheel of the Black March and Doomsday Candle at the camp and hand over the elixirs, shards, scales and ore.
  2. Complete Arcanite with 3 Arcanite Bars.
  3. Accept Imp Delivery, run Scholomance and open Imp in a Jar at the alchemy table in Ras Frostwhisper’s laboratory.
  4. Accept Dreadsteed of Xoroth, buy the three ritual items and bring a Crescent Key holder to Dire Maul West.
  5. Kill Tendris Warpwood, disable all five pylons and kill Immol’thar.
  6. Use J’eevee’s Jar in the center of the pedestal and survive about six minutes of Xorothian Imps and elite Dread Guards while relighting failing nodes with the Lodestone.
  7. When nine runes appear, rest, then use the Glyphs to summon the Xorothian Dreadsteed and kill it plus Lord Hel’nurath.
  8. Speak to the Dreadsteed Spirit to learn Summon Dreadsteed.

The Jar, Glyphs and Lodestone are not consumed. A Warlock who already owns them can run the ritual for you and save you 250 gold, but you still must finish every earlier step and have Dreadsteed of Xoroth in your log. Relighting a node costs one Soul Shard, takes 3 seconds and breaks on any damage. If all three nodes die, the ritual resets.

Level 60: Royal Seal of Eldre’Thalas

A Harnessing Shadows book drops in Dire Maul and starts a Warlock version of the Dire Maul tribute trinket quest. It rewards the Royal Seal of Eldre’Thalas and costs nothing beyond the run you were doing anyway.

What skipping costs you

  • Skipping the Voidwalker makes every level from 10 to 20 slower and every elite deadlier.
  • Skipping the Sayaad throws away the best leveling pet and, in Forever, a Fire sacrifice buff.
  • Skipping the Felhunter leaves you with no interrupt or dispel pet against casters.
  • Skipping the Felsteed means buying a mount like everyone else.
  • Skipping the Infernal and Doomguard costs niche spells that few raids will ever ask for.
  • Skipping the Dreadsteed means paying for a regular epic mount and missing the only horse that burns.
  • Skipping the gear chains costs you almost nothing except a few gold and rare hand-me-downs.

Lore behind the chains

Forever is set in 25 ADP, after the Forsaken Kingdom campaign and before Molten Core, so these quests land when Warlocks are tolerated at best. Gakin the Darkbinder runs a cabal under a Stormwind tavern, Strahad Farsan’s tower overlooks Ratchet, and Gan’rul teaches the same fel magic that burned the orcs green, a few steps from the Burning Blade in the Cleft of Shadows.

The high end pulls in the Legion directly. Kroshius is a fallen Infernal waiting in Felwood for someone foolish enough to relight him. Daio wants a Doomguard in a crystal jar. The Dreadsteeds come from Xoroth, the homeworld of the Dreadlords, and Lord Hel’nurath is the stablekeeper who objects to theft.

This World of Warcraft Forever warlock guide will be updated once beta shows which of these demons kept their old jobs.

At what level do Warlock class quests start in WoW Forever?

The Imp quest starts at level one, and the Voidwalker chain, your first real pet quest, unlocks at level ten.

How much gold does the Dreadsteed chain cost?

Vendor purchases total about 418 gold, or 168 gold if another Warlock brings the reusable Jar, Glyphs and Lodestone.

Can I solo the Warlock pet quests?

Voidwalker, Sayaad, Felhunter, Felsteed and Infernal are solo. Doomguard needs Dire Maul, and Dreadsteed adds Scholomance too.

Is the Succubus still in WoW Forever?

Forever captures call the pet Sayaad, and its Demonic Sacrifice now grants Fire damage instead of the old effect.

Has Blizzard changed Warlock class quests for Forever?

No Forever changes to these chains are published yet, so treat Classic steps and prices as baseline until beta.
